Louie Giglio had a quote that stood out to me recently, “To us, waiting is wasting. To God, waiting is working.” It got me thinking about the six years that Denis and I waited to form our family. Roughly 2,190 days of waiting. After a few years into our infertility and adoption process I was certain that time was being wasted. With each holiday, each birthday, each milestone moment in our lives I felt like I was losing out on being a Mom and that the time was being wasted away. But God was working in our lives the whole time, preparing our hearts and writing our story. Although my prayers were redundant and honestly boring, He heard every one and would be faithful to answer that prayer. I have to often remind myself that with all of my prayers that even though it might seem like I’m waiting and wasting time, I have to trust that God is working. There are likely things being worked out behind the scenes that I’m not aware of. My job is to trust that God is working.
What are you currently waiting on God for? Feel free to share in the comments below. I’d love to pray alongside you.
